My bodies of work revolve around human figures with the occasional animal accompanying the main human figure. I find that these bodies and the way they move and the way light catches and reflects off of the bodies is something that is very appealing and interesting to me. By painting this, I have been discovering new ways to show shapes and forms and different colours and textures that can aid in making the form stronger and more interesting.
By painting figures that are close to me in my life, this experience also becomes more intimate
as I relive the memories and feelings associated around the time the images took place,
immortalizing them on the canvas.
