Kym Wu
Kym Wu is an emerging artist in the Edmonton area and student at the University of Alberta. Kym works in painting, drawing, intermedia, and landscape and non-figurative photography. Her current art practice focuses on the human figure and form in paintings, depicting it as a part of narrative compositions and/or as a part of chimeric figures merged with natural elements. Elements such as plant life, animalistic forms, and weather phenomena represent and explore themes and narratives inspired by folklore and folktales, as well as the often-confusing navigation of identity, and mental health. Kym has most recently exhibited in the Dyscorpia 2.1 (2020) group exhibition.
